I interned for 4 weeks. I had reached at Bhopal District Court at 11 AM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and to report at Raisen District Court on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, I was allowed to leave as soon as the Court timings were over. overall the timings were flexible, I was allowed to leave early as I used to live in a different town.

Application process. (How did you apply?)

I had heard about him during my last internship. I contacted one of his Junior and asked if he takes Interns, the junior responded positively and asked me to personally contact Vinay Sir. I contacted him and he asked me to join his team from next day itself at Bhopal District Court.

Infrastructure and environment at the office; team strength

he has well a big and well-furnished office in Bhopal. Everyone is really friendly and accommodating. His juniors had become my good friends and we used to hang out after the office timing.

Main task (please elaborate)

my main task was to assist him and his juniors in court and in drafting work at the office. I was required to be well acquainted with the case that was to be dealt on that particular day. I was given work relating to filing and drafting of legal notices with some other works such as posting of legal notices and writing to applications. I was asked to read to IPC at least once before I complete my internship by one of the associates.

Overall experience; pros & cons

overall experience was great, it was fun working with his team, i had become really good friends with his team, we used to pull each other’s leg and joke a lot. pros- its an opportunity to learn who to draft legal notices and applications also i was taught some basics about defence lawyering. as I was the only intern at that time, i got the teams focus on me. I was having the advantage to approach any of the members of the team at any time for help. I was never without any work. most of the work that was given to me was related to my academic course and was aimed at teaching me something new. learnt a lot while enjoying, it was not a burden to travel at least 120 Km daily because the work and team were fun and friendly. cons- i can’t find a con.
